The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Theatre program will present William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing on April 11 through 14 at the Hartwig Theatre on the Hattiesburg campus. The April 11, 12, and 13 performances are set for 7:30 p.m., with a 2 p.m. performance on April 13 and 14.

Much Ado About Nothing is about the couples Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero as they get misled by mere gossip. This classic Shakespearean comedy has many humorous situations while also dealing with gender roles, betrayal, and deception.

“[The characters] Benedick and Beatrice are the most lovable, amusing, and good people – the best of combinations – he ever created,” stated W.H. Auden in a 1946 review. “They are the characters of Shakespeare we'd most like to sit next to at dinner.”

Tickets are $15 for general admission; $10 for faculty, staff, seniors, military; and $8 for students. Tickets will be available at the door or at www.southernmisstickets.com.
