Registration Deadline Oct. 12 for USM Graduate School’s Three-Minute Thesis Competition

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Graduate School is accepting submissions for its seventh annual Three-Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, set for Nov. 4-6 from 2-5 p.m. Submissions from active USM master’s, specialist and doctoral degree candidates will be accepted for the competition through Monday, Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. at https://forms.usm.edu/graduate-school/view.php?id=142889.

A physical location or instructions for virtual participation will be shared as the date of the event approaches. Up to eight finalists in the competition will be awarded $250, with the Grand Champion earning an additional $1,000.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition is a communication skills development event where graduate students explain the significance of their research project to a general audience in three minutes or less, while also providing an opportunity for these students to develop communication skills, showcase their research, establish collaborations and networks and compete for monetary awards.
