College of Nursing Student Ambassadors
- What is the program? The College of Nursing selects a group of outstanding students to represent the College to their peers, their families, the university and the community. This opportunity allows the students to become engaged in college activities and decisions. The Ambassadors will serve as hosts for special events, facilitate workshops, serve as peer mentors, and assist in community outreach efforts.
- Who is eligible to participate? Participates must be nursing students in good academic standing and have completed at least one semester at Southern Miss. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and two letters of recommendation are required. We are seeking individuals who enjoy interacting with others, have a strong academic record and wish to serve the College of Nursing.
- What are the benefits? Ambassadors will develop strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills, preparing them for the future. The program allows the student to interact with fellow students, college faculty, staff, and university administrators. It will also enhance personal resumes’.
- How do I apply? Complete the application below by November 1st for spring or April 1st for fall. Email resume and letters of recommendation to the Assistant to the Dean for Academic Records and Advisement, Cynthia.Sheffield@usm.edu. Selected applicants will be called for interviews. Ambassadors will be selected and notified via the email address on the application.
