Message from the Dean

Currently nurses have tremendous opportunity and responsibility to play key roles in transforming health care and improving health. Southern Miss nursing programs prepare nurses at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral level who are equipped to transform health care and improve the health and well-being of individual patients and families, communities, and populations as well as advance the profession of nursing through education, scholarship, and service.

Both registered nurse and advanced practice registered nurse jobs are projected to be among the top occupations for job growth during the next decade making this a wonderful time to consider becoming a nurse or advancing your nursing career. On behalf of the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the University of Southern Mississippi College of Nursing, we invite you to join us as we move forward in breaking ground and transforming healthcare.

Dr. Kathleen Masters

Professor and Interim Dean
