The University schedule for 2018-2019 is different from prior years. The Academic Calendar has changed to create shorter semesters, and the actual class meeting times are different.
In general, during fall 2018 and spring 2019, classes meet for longer periods of time, and we have longer breaks between classes. The different scheduling patterns allow for more flexibility in scheduling, an increased efficiency in utilizing classroom space, and a reduction of the semester to two weeks shorter. Classes meet on all five days (Monday-Friday), although there are more options for scheduling. Instead of just having MWF and T/Th classes as we did in the past, we now also have more MW classes.
Below are two options on how to view the new course schedule/meeting patterns.
The full background on the Scheduling Task Force, research, and final recommendations for the new course scheduling meeting times may be found here.
