Withdrawal Due to Personal Hardships

Please note that students should allow time for petitions to be reviewed, adjudicated, and sent to the Registrar. In cases where petitions for Ws are approved, paperwork received by the Office of the Registrar by the next to the last Friday of the month will be processed and posted to the student record by the last Friday of that same month. Those petitions received after that time frame will roll over until the next month, and the grade change will be posted at that time.

Your grades prior to and following the term in question must be satisfactory in order to be considered.  If you think you qualify, please click below for the required form and description of needed documentation, then contact Ms. Alfreda Horton  (https://www.usm.edu/student-affairs/office-student-ombudsman-services) to provide her with your documentation and ask any questions you may have.
