Security and Import/Export Control
A direct report to the Office of the Vice President for Research, the ITAR (International Traffic in Arms)/Export Control Officer is responsible for assisting the principal investigator (PI) to ensure research work is not being conducted in violation of federal regulations that govern the release of certain information and materials to foreign nationals.
Violations of the Export Control regulations can result in penalties for the university and the PI which can be severe.
