Student Academic Mentor (SAM)
Student Academic Mentors are upper-class students who academically mentor freshmen residents. This peer-to-peer SAM program focuses on academic engagement and success at Southern Miss.

- April 22 at 5 p.m. - Applications due for first-round consideration
*NOTE: The application will remain active after this deadline. Those who sumit their application after April 22 at 5 p.m. will be considered for a summer position, if available.
- April 25 - 29 - Interviews will take place for those selected for first-round consideration
*NOTE: Reference form MUST be submitted by the end of the interview week (April 29) in order for your application file (application, interview and reference) to be complete.
- May 2 - 6 - Hiring decisions made for first-round interviews
- Early June - Application review and interview selection for those who applied after the April 22 deadline
*NOTE: This will only take place if positions are still available.
