Christopher Samuel Wilkes, LCSW, CAADC

Adjunct Faculty

Chris holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in History and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He currently teaches two courses: history of social systems and addictions. His primary area of practice is outpatient counseling services and homelessness issues.


The grandson of a sharecropper, Chris inherited a strong entrepreneurial spirit from his farming background. He is co-owner of Sycamore Tree Counseling Services, LLC and co-founder of Hope House Ministries, Inc. He speaks regularly in the community on issues of homelessness as it relates to direct practice, policy, and spirituality. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Association of Addiction Professionals.


Chris is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys spending time with his family and research/practice of urban and wilderness self-reliance.
