Sherry Gilkey

Sherry Gilkey is currently a doctoral student seeking a Ph.D. in Research, Evaluation, Statistics, and Assessment in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. In May 2015, she graduated with a Master of Social Work degree with a previous bachelor’s degree from USM in elementary education. She worked in the Mississippi public school system for several years before becoming employed in the School of Social Work at USM. Her current research focuses on the effects of different types of physical activity in regard to improving executive functioning in children exhibiting difficulty controlling hyperactive, inhibition, inattention, and working memory.
