The USM Speaking Center is staffed by highly trained undergraduate and graduate student
peer-consultants who work with speakers to develop effective presentations in any
discipline, at every stage of the process. Located on the first floor of the Cook
Library on the Hattiesburg campus, we provide a welcoming atmosphere with space to
meet in small groups, private practice rooms, and a workshop room/classroom, all equipped
with presentation technology. We see approximately 2,000 individual appointments and
conduct dozens of unique and interdisciplinary workshops for undergraduate and graduate
classes, faculty, staff, and other campus stakeholders each year.
