Learning Beyond the Classroom: A Curricular Approach

The offices of the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs invite faculty and staff educators to join them on Thursday, November 10, at 2:30 p.m. as they host nationally known educator and beyond-the-classroom curriculum expert Dr. Keith Edwards. Dr. Edwards’ presentation will illuminate the purpose and desired effect of the University’s Pillar initiative on the student experience outside the classroom. The event will include time for Q & A afterwards.

The University Pillar initiative strives to significantly enhance the student experience outside the classroom. When operational, this approach will not only complement but directly contribute to students’ holistic educational experience at Southern Miss.  The support services and engagement professionals across the divisions of Student and Academic Affairs are ready for this new approach to their work and excited about the potential to transform their contribution to student success at Southern Miss.  We hope all staff and faculty educators will make plans to join us for this unique learning opportunity. While the presentation will be delivered virtually, we are offering an in-person viewing option as well as a social for all campus viewers to follow in the Union, room B.
