The Freshman 15 Program- hosted by Campus Recreation @ the Payne Center

This program is FREE and open to all freshman students! Visit the Payne Center this fall to get active, reduce stress and meet new friends! Log your visits at the kiosk located in the Payne Center Atrium and receive prizes just for showing up! This program is set to run through November 24.

Fill up your Bingo Card by volunteering as part of United Way’s Week of Caring. All volunteer opportunities can be done in small groups or as individuals. Click here to learn more.

Grab and Go Swag and Supply Drive in the Student Activities Hub, Tuesday-Thursday 10 AM-NOON. We are located on the right at you enter the Hub.

FUN FREEBIE FRIDAY- USM Jigsaw Puzzle competition posted through social media-complete 3 jigsaw puzzles of various campus life photos and share with Leadership and Student Involvement (LSI) on Instagram by Monday, August 24th at 5 PM for a FREE swag bag from LSI. Follow Leadership and Student Involvement on Instagram @usm_lsi

NPHC Virtual Informational (3:30 PM Sorority, 7:00 PM Fraternity)

The National Pan-Hellenic Council leadership invites you to attend an informational for students to learn all about the sororities and fraternities offered in this council at Southern Miss. This will be a time to learn about the history of these organizations and how the members of these chapters excel in the areas of brotherhood or sisterhood, scholarship, and service. This virtual event will also include how to join this community.

September 1 – 3 | Civic Action Days

In coordination with the Center for Community Engagement, members of AASO, Delta Sigma Theta, I.D.E.A.L Women, M.O.X., NAACP, and SGA, will be raising awareness about how to be an active citizen, what you need to know about your voting rights and how you can make an informed vote! Register to vote in the comfort of your dorm room and volunteers will pick it up and get it delivered to the appropriate county clerk’s office! Click here to learn more.

ASB Social Convos

On September 23rd at 6 PM, the Center for Community Engagement will host “ASB Social Convos: Voter Rights and Voter Suppression”. In this digital session, participants will hear from MS Votes Data Analyst, Charles Taylor, and NAACP Community Organizer, Matthew Thompson as they share about Voting Rights and engage students in a discussion surrounding Voter Suppression and ways that we can all break down barriers that prevent others from voting.
