Joy Zelikovsky, Psy.D.


Joy is the supervising psychologist at the University of Southern Mississippi Student Counseling Services. She works with students providing individual therapy and also provides supervision for doctoral students in training. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Connecticut and also a licensed professional counselor. She is also certified as a National Health Service Psychologist with the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. She completed her doctorate at the Florida School of Professional Psychology, as well as two Master’s degrees in Psychological services and Professional Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania.  Her B.A. was completed at the University of Massachusetts, in psychology, sociology and education. Joy is a generalist by training but specializes in eating disorders. While Joy has worked in a variety of settings, including: private practice, community mental health, schools and residential settings, she has a passion for college counseling and working with both traditional and non-traditional students. In addition to therapy, Joy has a background in providing neuropsychological and psychodiagnostic assessment. Joy enjoys helping students mature and grow as well as learn how to manage difficult emotional and educational challenges. Joy loves teaching and it is her goal to help future and current psychologists to grow and be successful in their careers. When not working with college students, Joy is most like playing with her two puppies, Orion and Loki.
