The National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) has declared the third week of October as National Transfer Student Week. This week allows us to celebrate transfer students and their advocates who help(ed) them navigate the transition from one institution to another. Let's celebrate the transfer students at Southern Miss!
Stop by our table in the Thad Cochran Center from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. to pick up a cookie and mingle with our transfer student peer mentors, the Transfer Transitions Leaders! We'll have more information on how to be connected with a mentor, or serve as a mentor to incoming transfer students.
Come meet and mingle with the staff of The Center for Student Success in our office in Cook Library to learn more about the programs and support we offer for transfer students, and enjoy breakfast while you're here!
It's a Southern Miss tradition to paint the "Little Rock" at the front of campus throughout the semester in an effort to increase enthusiasm and awareness about athletic or other events happening around campus. This week it's all about transfer students! Join us to take your opportunity to paint the Little Rock at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Post to social media and share your favorite part of being a Southern Miss transfer student and use the hashtag #transferstothetop for a chance to win a free t-shirt!
Follow along with the Transfer Student Association on Instagram at @southernmisstsa for a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a transfer student and to hear more about how to get connected on campus.
