Preliminary Economic Impact Study the Proposed Grenada Sports Complex

The Department of Economic Development and Hospitality and Tourism at the University of Southern Mississippi conducted an economic impact study for Grenada County Economic Development District (GCEDD) for the proposed new sports complex in Grenada County. The research team conducted primary and secondary data in the cities of Grenada, Holcomb, Elliott, Leflore, and Hardy to determine both low and high demand for the sports complex. Depending on low or high demand, $10.5 million or $15 million is expected in revenue which will support 703 and 919 direct jobs with the potential to create an additional 66 or 90 indirect and 53 or 76 induced jobs with the impact of $3.4 million and $4.8 million. The data was present to the Grenada County Board of Supervisors for their review.
