The Southern Miss Digital Collections contain a selection of digitized items from McCain Library & Archives, home to the University of Southern Mississippi Libraries' Special Collections.

Southern Miss History
The Southern Miss History Digital Collection contains a selection of items from the University Archives & Manuscripts located in McCain Library & Archives. Included are photographs, yearbook pages, documents, and memorabilia that document The University of Southern Mississippi's history. New items are added regularly.

AAEC Editorial Cartoons
The Editorial Cartoon Digital Collection contains examples of the work of member artists of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC). With more than 1000 cartoons representing more than 50 cartoonists, the digital collection is still growing. Created primarily in the 1960s and 1970s, the cartoons reflect changes in American social and political attitudes and provide artistic commentary on such topics as the Civil Rights Movement, Watergate, the Vietnam War, government bureaucracy, taxes, and political corruption.

The H.A. & Margret Rey Digital Collection contains a selection of items from the H.A. & Margret Rey collection located in the de Grummond Children's Literature Collection in McCain Library & Archives.

Historical Manuscripts and Photographs
The Historical Manuscripts & Photographs Digital Collection contains a selection of items from manuscript collections in McCain Library & Archives. Items document the history of the South, with particular emphasis on Mississippi.

The collection includes civil rights documents from USM manuscript collections digitized as part of National Leadership Grant awarded in 2003 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the Mississippi Digital Library.

Kate Greenaway Papers
The Kate Greenaway Papers Digital Collection contains a selection of items from the Kate Greenaway collection located in the de Grummond Children's Literature Collection in McCain Library & Archives.

Maps
The Maps Digital Collection contains a selection of historical maps from the Special Collections in McCain Library & Archives. Many of the maps feature Mississippi in the 1800s.

Mississippiana
The Mississippiana Digital Collection contains a selection of published items associated with Mississippi history, culture, and government from the Special Collections in McCain Library & Archives.

Oral History
The Oral History Digital Collection contains a selection of interview transcripts produced by the Center for Oral History and Cultural Heritage at The University of Southern Mississippi. Currently, a majority of the interviews in the collection document the Civil Rights movement in Mississippi. Transcripts of additional oral history interviews are available in McCain Library & Archives.

Rare Books
The Rare Book Digital Collection contains a selection of rare books from the Special Collections in McCain Library & Archives.

The Rare Book Collection is comprised of materials relating to the history of the South, the Civil War, the history of printing, philosophy, religion, among other topics. McCain Library & Archives.

Robert Waller Photographs
The Robert Waller Photographs Digital Collection contains a selection of Waller's commercial photographs, including local businesses, schools, churches, civil and social organizations, and events.

Waller was a professional photographer who operated a studio out of his home in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. His photographs document life in southern Mississippi, particularly Hattiesburg, from the mid-1940s through the 1970s.

University of Southern Mississippi Art Museum
The University of Southern Mississippi Art Museum Digital Collection contains a selection of artwork from the permanent collection at the art museum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.
