1.  PURPOSE.  The purpose of this memorandum is to establish the policies and procedures for attendance requirements in the Golden Eagle Battalion.

2. ATTENDANCE TO ALL ROTC CLASSES, LABS, PT, and TRAINING EVENTS.

a.  Attendance is mandatory for All USM ROTC Classes, Labs, and PT for all Cadets.  If the Cadet has three unexcused absences from any of these it could result in losing one letter grade in their MSL class final grade for that semester.

b.  Contracted Cadet attendance is mandatory for ALL USM ROTC Classes, Labs, PT, and Training Events. If the Contracted Cadet has three unexcused absences from any of these it will result in losing one letter grade in their MSL Class final grade for that semester and the Contracted Cadet will be placed into a Probation or Suspension status for that semester. If there are three or more unexcused absences in the same semester the Contracted Cadet will be recommended for Disenrollment through 6th Brigade and US Army Cadet Command.

c.  Three unexcused late arrivals will equal one unexcused absence.

3.  ATTENDANCE TRACKING.  The Cadet S-1 will maintain a daily PT log to include absences and late arrivals which will be emailed to the SMI and he will send to all Cadre Members. Also the MSL Instructor will maintain a daily tracker for all unexcused absences. Once the Cadet violates the attendance policy the MSL Instructor will counsel the Cadet and the SMI and PMS will be notified so the appropriate action can be initiated.
