MAJ Brian McIntyre

Enrollment and Scholarship Officer

MAJ Brian McIntyre was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in Field Artillery in 1995.  He graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science degree in Criminology.  His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms Services and Staff School, the Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army Level II Range Safety Course, Cadet Command Recruiting Operations Officer Course, and the Combat Studies Institute Military History Instructor Course.

MAJ McIntyre has served in numerous types of units.  He served as the Fire Direction Officer, Executive Officer, and has commanded Field Artillery units with the 1/114th Field Artillery Battalion, 631st Field Artillery Brigade.  He commanded the Headquarters and Headquarters Company and the Medical Replacement and Transition Company (MRATC) at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.  MAJ McIntyre also served as the Range Control Officer with Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in support of the Global War on Terror.  He is currently serving as the Enrollment and Scholarship Officer with the University of Southern Mississippi Army ROTC Program.

MAJ McIntyre’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service medal (with Service Star), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with Silver Hourglass and M Device), the Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon (with Numeral 2), the Army Service Ribbon, and the U.S. Army Excellence in Competition Badge (Bronze, Pistol).

MAJ McIntyre is married to the former Marsha Ann Barrett of Hatley, Mississippi.  The McIntyre’s have two sons, Bo (Tammy) and Ben (Amanda), two daughters, Emily and Alison, and three grandsons, Luke, Dakota and Colin.
