Should I go to graduate school?
How much education do I need to obtain my desired career?

When choosing a career path, it is very important to consider how long you want to be in school. No matter what level of education, there are plenty of exciting career options available.

Bachelor’s Degree

A Bachelor’s degree will qualify you to hold job positions such as the following:
  • Technician
  • Technologist
  • Laboratory assistant
  • Research assistant in education, government, industry, museums, parks, gardens

You will also be able to perform non-technical work in the these areas:
  • Sales
  • Photography
  • Illustration
  • Writing
  • Legislation


  • Master’s Degree

    A Master’s degree allows you the ability to:

  • Gain more research opportunities
  • Hold several types of administrative positions
  • Teach at some community colleges



  • Doctoral Degree

    A Doctoral degree provides the opportunity for:

  • Advanced research including independent research
  • Administrative positions
  • Many other job positions
  • Teach at a university


Other Important Information :
An advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) provides the chance to specialize in different areas of the biological sciences such as botany, genetics, zoology, etc.
The biological sciences are excellent preparation for a career in the healthcare industry such as medicine, veterinary science, pharmacy, dentistry, etc. However, professional degrees and licenses are also needed to practice in these fields.
