Leadership Class

LEADERSHIP IN THE FRATERNAL MOVEMENT (3 hrs.)

The "Greek Leadership course" is housed in the Department of University Studies (UNV) as a section of UNV 312: Mentoring in the Profession.  It is currently being instructed as a pilot course from which data on student learning will be gathered and curriculum assessed. The curriculum of the course borrows from the one being offered at The University of West Florida with significant differences. Currently, there is one section of the course.

COURSE DESCRIPTION/OVERVIEW:

This course is designed to supplement and enhance students’ leadership and personal development skills.  Through readings, discussions, presentations and projects, students will apply leadership theories and practices learned in the course to their student/greek organization and everyday lives. 

 

COURSE SCHEDULED/OFFERED: Fall, Spring

NUMBER OF HOURS OF COURSE: 3 semester hours, Graded A-F.

ENROLLMENT CAP: 30 students.

REQUIRED TEXTS:  Motivating the Middle (Sullivan, 2012) -and- 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership (Maxwell, 2007)
