Order of Olympians

 

What is it?

The Order of Olympians are the official student ambassadors of the Southern Miss Greek Community. The organization will work with the Office of Greek Life and Southern Miss by visiting schools, assisting with council recruitment/intake events, and participate in philanthropy events throughout the year.  The Order of Olympians will attend local and regional Office of Admissions’ events throughout the academic year to promote all that Southern Miss has to offer students.  These events include but are not limited to: University Areawides, Office of Admissions High School Days, and Previews.
 

The Order of Olympians will also conduct one philanthropy event a semester to support one charity of its choice, as well as participate and attend all Greek philanthropy events held by our chapters. Only four members from IFC, four members from CPC, and four members from NPHC will be accepted, totaling 12 members total.  In the spring of 2013, they held a profit-share day at Caliente Grill for Pine Belt tornado relief efforts.


Requirements:

  • Applicant must have at least sophomore standing, according to SOAR
  • Applicant must have obtained at 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Applicant must be within good standing with his/her Greek organization

 

How to apply

Presently, the orgnaization is not accepting applications.  The Alpha Class will be revealed to the campus at a pre-determined time in the near future.  At that point, a member's affiliation as an Olympian will be made public.
