Policy Statement


 

Smoking is allowed only in designated smoking areas. No smoking is allowed in the residence halls.

 


Reason for Policy/Purpose


This policy is required for the effective communication of university policy regarding smoking in the residence halls.

 


Who Needs to Know This Policy


All students of The University of Southern Mississippi community living on campus.

Policy/Procedures


Smoking on campus is prohibited except in designated smoking areas exterior to and away from the residence halls and sorority houses. Residents will face removal from the hall following a third violation of the smoking policy inside a residence hall. Student may be cited by campus law enforcement for violating the smoking policy.

 


Review


The Director of Student Housing Administration is responsible for the review of this policy every four years (or whenever circumstances require immediate review).
