• Application to the violin studio at the School of Music requires an audition, recorded or in person. Audition requirements are:

1. A concerto movement
2. Two contrasting movements of unaccompanied Bach
3. An etude or a concert piece

Also, submit a full resume (listing your complete activities as a musician, including awards). Please indicate the degree you wish to apply for, your age, and if you will be entering the University directly or needing to study English first.

If you cannot audition in person, you may send a CD, a DVD or a video, using as high a level of audio quality as possible.

• Application to the viola studio at the School of Music requires an audition, recorded or in person. Audition requirements are:

1. A movement of a concerto or sonata
2. A movement of unaccompanied Bach
3. An etude or a concert piece

Students should choose pieces from at least two categories listed above to show their ability on both technical and musical sides.

Also, submit a full resume (listing your complete activities as a musician, including awards). Please indicate the degree you wish to apply for, your age, and if you will be entering the University directly or needing to study English first.

Application to the bass studio at the School of Music requires an audition, recorded or in person. Audition requirements are:

• Bachelor of Music

1. Scales/Arpeggios: Two octaves scales and arpeggios. (Major and Minor.) (2 keys)
2. One Short Etude to show cantidate's technical proficiency
3. Two Contrasting Movements of a sonata (Vivaldi, Marcello, etc.) concerto (Dittersdorf, Koussevitzky, Dragonetti, Bottesini, etc)

• Master of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts

1. Scales/Arpeggios: Three octaves scales and arpeggios. (Major and Minor.) (2 keys)
2. One Etude (Simandl, Nanny, Kreutzer, Mengoli,etc.
3. Two Contrasting movements of a Sonata or concerto
4. One Movement of a Bach Cello Suite

Also, submit a full resume (listing your complete activities as a musician, including awards). Please indicate the degree you wish to apply for, your age, and if you will be entering the University directly or needing to study English first.

• Bachelor of Music

1. One etude by Carcassi, Sor, Coste, or Villa-Lobos
2. A movement of a work or a single-movement work not from the Classical Period

• Master of Music

1. A movement of an unaccompanied Bach work for Lute, Violin, or Cello
2. A movement of a work written after the Baroque Period

• Doctorate of Musical Arts

1. Two movements of an unaccompanied Bach work for Lute, Violin, or Cello
2. A movement of a work or a single-movement work from the Classical or Romantic Period
3. A movement of a work or a single-movement Contemporary work

Also, submit a full resume (listing your complete activities as a musician, including awards). Please indicate the degree you wish to apply for, your age, and if you will be entering the University directly or needing to study English first.
