If you've ever built a home or owned land, you know that a survey is needed to establish boundaries and special features of the property. But when it comes to surveying the bottom of the ocean floor, it takes a special scientific approach to keep up with the changing lay of the land. As Layla Essary reports, the University of Southern Mississippi is one of only two places in North America where students can get an advanced degree in ocean floor surveying.
