Announcements

The Southern Miss Speaking Center and Forensics Society are hosting an Advanced Speaking Competition.

  • Open to anyone with significant public speaking experience
  • Impromptu and Persuasive/Informative events. Impromptu speeches will be given a quotation to discuss in a 4 minute speech. Persuasive/informative speeches will be 5-6 minutes and prepared in advance. 
  • Prizes will be awarded to winners and audience members!
  • Registration is limited, so send your name, major, and speech topic/event in an email to speakingcenter@usm.edu as soon as possible!

Employee of the Month

Tori Brown was the Employee of the Month in September. She is a first year Ph.D. student in the Communication Studies Department, and this is her first semester as a graduate peer consultant in the Speaking Center. Congratulations, Tori!
