Benefit Resources

As a benefit-eligible employee of the University of Mississippi employee, you are eligible for health plan options, retirement plans, life insurance, and more. While many of these programs are administered by the State of Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration, our Benefits team helps new employees understand their options, supports new families, assists employees with work-related injuries, and provides those preparing to retire with resources and guidance. Our Benefits team is part of the University Human Resources team.

The University provides standard workers' compensation coverage under a self-insurance
program in accordance with Mississippi State laws that, in general, prescribe the amounts of indemnity payable for the degrees of disability, temporary or regular, and for death if the injury or disability occurs on the job. These laws also provide for medical care, hospitalization, and weekly compensation for the period of disability. All on-the-job injuries should be reported immediately to the employee's supervisor and University Human Resources.
