Dr. Lisa Nored

Full Professor


Dr. Nored is an active researcher and has published extensively in the areas of justice policy and administration, child welfare and juvenile justice. She is the author of twenty books, including legal treatises and textbooks, as well as more than thirty other publications. She has made more than fifty professional presentations and has a successful record of externally-funded projects. She was appointed to the Mississippi Commission on Children’s Justice by Chief Justice William L. Waller, Jr. and to the Mississippi State Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice by Governor Phil Bryant. Dr. Nored was also selected as a W.K. Kellogg Foundation Fellow and received specialized training in the field of child advocacy at the University of Michigan School of Law. Further, Dr. Nored conducted the first statewide study of child maltreatment-related homicide in Mississippi the results of which were published in Child Homicide: Child Abuse Fatalities in Mississippi.
