John Hannon

Associate Professor


John Hannon joined University of Southern Mississippi as an assistant professor in 2003. He began his construction career as a common laborer and worked on a concrete crew in commercial construction for several years. After graduation from Oklahoma State University, Mr. Hannon was employed as an estimator in the heavy-civil construction sector for 12 years. Prior to academia, Mr. Hannon was a trainer and consultant for a company specializing in estimating and project controls software. In this endeavor, he visited over 70 different construction contracting firms and trained hundreds of estimators. He has lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska, Arizona, and Northern Virginia.
