Dr. Paul Linden
Professor
Bio
Dr. Paul Linden's recent scholarship focuses on music industry, grounded in professional experience as a musician, producer and manager. Publications address artist management strategy, arts entrepreneurship, race and musical genre. Sustained attention to the lyrical ties publications on Tom Waits to previous scholarship on French literature exploring how poetic language bears witness to disruption. Exploring poetic language through the lens of trauma theory reveals many of the same fractures we find when looking at song lyrics as a vehicle of coherent order.
