Bio

Dr. Jennifer Lemacks is an academic leader and scientist focused on advancing cardiometabolic health through community-engaged research, translational science training, and collaborative system improvement. She plays a key leadership role in USM's Gulf South Center for Community-Engaged Health Research and Innovation and the Jackson Heart Study Graduate Training and Education Center. She also contributes to statewide capacity building through Mississippi INBRE. Her work emphasizes lifestyle interventions, data-driven program evaluation, community trust-building, and preparing diverse trainees for translational and implementation science careers. Dr. Lemacks designs and leads initiatives that integrate research rigor, workforce development, and cross-sector collaboration, strengthening health equity efforts across Mississippi. She is committed to developing the next generation of scientists and advancing research that improves community health in real-world settings.
