J. Theresa Bush

Assistant Professor


J. Theresa Bush is a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 and Assistant Professor of Costume Design and Technology at USM. Theresa is an Associate Costume Designer to Toni-Leslie James--Tony Award & Drama Desk winner and Head of Costumes at Yale School of Drama. Associate credits include Head of Passes for Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and Familiar for Yale Repertory Theatre among others. Theresa has designed regionally for companies including the Actor's Guild of Lexington, The Warehouse Theatre, and Virginia Rep. Awards include the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle Award for Excellence, and the KCACTF Faculty Excellence in Costume Design Award. She has served as costume shop manager for the Williamstown Theatre Festival 2012 season producing the Broadway premiers of Far From Heaven and The Elephant Man. She has created costumes for regional houses including Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Lexington Children’s Theatre, and she served as Dolly Parton’s alteration specialist.
