Dr. Janet Donaldson

Full Professor


I completed by BS and PhD in Microbiology from Mississippi State University. After completion of my PhD I was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health. Following this position, I was a postdoctoral associate at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. I began my first academic position in 2007 in the Department of Biological Sciences at Mississippi State University. In 2016 I joined the faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi as the Chair for the Department of Biological Sciences. Currently, I am the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education with the College of Arts & Sciences.
