Professor

Bio

Sarah Lee serves as Director of the School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering. She joined USM in 2020 following nine years at Mississippi State University where she most recently served as Assistant Department Head. Sarah left FedEx Corporation after 19 years to enter academia with a passion for broadening participation in computing. Sarah holds a BS in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from the Mississippi University for Women and a master’s degree in computer science from MSU. She earned her PhD in computer science from the University of Memphis. In 2020, she was recognized as a John Grisham Master Teacher, the highest faculty award for teaching at MSU. She received a Top in Tech Award from the Mississippi Business Journal in 2019.
