Bio

Eric Scott joins the faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi as the Assistant Director of Bands, where he assists “The Pride of Mississippi” Marching Band, directs the USM Basketball Pep Band, conducts the University Band and Concert Band, and teaches Conducting I.

Prior to USM, Scott studied instrumental conducting at Northwestern University and the UMKC Conservatory in Kansas City, where his teachers include Dr. Mallory Thompson and Steven D. Davis. As a Tennessee native, Eric taught ten years of public school in the greater Nashville area.

Eric has completed his Doctor of Musical Arts coursework at Northwestern University, a Master of Music from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University.
