Dr. Allen Ryan

Bio
Dr. Ryan returns to the USM faculty having previously spent three years as a Professor of Practice in the Department of Finance. His professional background includes years spent in the health care industry as well as public accounting. Dr. Ryan spent 14 years living in western Europe where he taught economics in international secondary schools and served as a graduate teaching assistant at Trinity College Dublin. Following his years abroad, he returned to the United States where he taught economics and finance at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and at USM before beginning his doctoral studies in accounting at Louisiana State University. He received his Ph.D. degree in accounting in May 2019 and in August joined the faculty at the University of New Orleans where he held the position of Assistant Professor of Accounting. He currently holds the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting in the School of Leadership on the Gulf Park campus.
