Bio
Jim Evans, J.D., Ph.D. serves as Assistant Professor of Sport Management in the School of Marketing. He earned B.A. degrees in English and history at Louisiana State University in 2006 and a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2009. After working as an attorney in private practice in Memphis, Tennessee, for several years, Dr. Evans returned to academia to earn an M.S. in sport management from Louisiana State University in 2016 and a Ph.D. in sport management from The Ohio State University in 2019. Dr. Evans' main teaching interests include sport law, sport analytics, and sport finance. His research primarily focuses on legal issues in college athletics, risk management and security in sport, and quantitative research methodology.
