Amanda J. Butler joined The University of Southern Mississippi as the Academic Services Coordinator for the Legal Studies program in 2020. In February 2025, she became the Associate Director of Compliance and Ethics.  In July of 2026 when the Office of Compliance and Ethics was sunset, Amanda transitioned to the role of Regulatory Specialist in the Office of General Counsel. 

Amanda received a BS in Forensic Science (Anthropology), minor in Criminal Justice, and minor in Spanish from the University of Southern Mississippi and received a BA in Legal Studies (Paralegal) from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She is in the process of completing her MA in Political Science.  Before joining the Office of Compliance and Ethics, as the Associate Director of Compliance and Ethics, Amanda served as the Assistant Office Manager for USM's paralegal program for several years.
