Victoria Burns joined the Office of General Counsel in 2025 as the Office Manager and Paralegal. In this role, she manages the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the office while providing paralegal support. Her responsibilities include coordinating office operations, managing the office budget and financial reporting, assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents, maintaining legal records, and supporting a wide range of legal and administrative matters on behalf of the University.
Victoria earned a B.A. in Legal Studies and French, with a minor in Political Science, from The University of Southern Mississippi. During her time at Southern Miss, she served as President of the Legal Eagles student organization and as an officer in the Association Française de USM. She also studied abroad in Paris and participated in an exchange program in Orléans, France.
Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Victoria worked as a paralegal in private practice, where she managed large litigation caseloads and gained experience in civil, criminal, family, employment, military, and personal injury law. Earlier in her career, she served as an Electronic Military Personnel Office Clerk at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, where she provided administrative and personnel support to service members and their families throughout the mobilization, deployment, and redeployment process.
