$85,000 Subcontract with MITRE
Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang recently secured an $85,000 subcontract with MITRE, a non-profit organization on a grant sponsored by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to modernize the surveillance of the built environment for more physical activities and better health of our population. The objective of Dr. Zhang’s work is to prove the concept of using computer vision and machine learning technologies to extract sidewalks, verify their presence, and generate a sidewalk network that is of correct geometry, connected topology, and most importantly, accurate locations, from satellite/aerial imageries of a given area.
Awarded $47,419 External Grant from the Rail Passengers Association
Dr. Yuanyuan Zhang received an external grant for $47,419 from the National Association of Railroad Passengers, also known as Rail Passengers Association (RPA) for a study on a modernized tool for socioeconomic impact analysis of passenger railways. RPA is the largest advocacy organization for rail passengers in the United States.
