Thesis/Dissertation/Doctoral Project Final Submission Checklist
Thesis/Dissertation/Doctoral Project Final Submission Checklist
The following items are necessary to complete the final submission of a dissertation, thesis, or doctoral project. Failure to complete the required items by the posted deadline will result in a deferral of graduation.
Notify the Documents Specialist after completing all requirements and confirm with the program if there are any additional document requirements, such as providing an electronic or bound copy.
Required Items
Item 1: Inspect Final Approved PDF
- Check converted pdf file to verify there are no conversion or formatting errors missed during the review. Notify the Documents Specialist if there are any formatting issues.
- Only formatting changes can be made after a document has been accepted into Aquila.
- Only submit an updated version of the document if there are errors that need to be fixed. If the document does not require any final edits, then the version already in Aquila will serve as the final version. Inform the Documents Specialist before submitting an updated version to Aquila.
Item 2: Complete Survey of Earned Doctorates (Doctoral Students Only)
- The Survey of Earned Doctorates is different than the USM Exit Survey and should be completed in addition to the USM Exit Survey
Item 3: Embargo Dissertation, Thesis, or Doctoral Project
- If you desire to withhold the release of your document, you should set the duration of the Embargo Period on the Aquila Submission Form anywhere from 0-150 years. If you have questions about embargoing, or if you change your mind about embargoing after submission, please contact the document specialist via email at documentspecialistFREEMississippi.
Optional Items
The following items are not required nor covered by Graduate School fees. Students must initiate the process and are responsible for all fees associated the services mentioned. Refer to the document guidelines for more information on these optional requirements.
