All sections of the ‘Special Problems’ course (PAS 692) are assigned Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences (SCPEs, aka clinical rotations) and are delivered in person via clinical instructors (preceptors) in a clinical setting.
The Clinical Seminar courses (PAS 661, 662, 663) and the Research Capstone course (PAS 680) are delivered in person during the ‘callback’ weeks at the USM Gulf Park campus.
Clinical phase students are enrolled in the PAS 692 Special Problems course each semester. During that course, students will complete 5-week clinical rotations (as assigned) from the list of required disciplines:
-
- H001 = Family Medicine
- H002 = Emergency Medicine
- H003 = Internal Medicine
- H004 = Surgery
- H005 = Pediatrics
- H006 = Women’s Health
- H007 = Behavioral Health
- H008 = Elective (must be approved by the Program)
ALL student placements are dependent on clinical site availability, preceptor availability,
program discretion, and in some cases, student preferences.
