Southern Miss Alumni Association Announces 2022 Hall of Fame Inductees

The University of Southern Mississippi Alumni Association will induct seven of its most dedicated and distinguished alumni into its Hall of Fame.
The 2022 inductees include:
Shonna Brown ’01 of Georgetown, Texas
Alan Coats ’78 of The Woodlands, Texas
Steve Knight ’79 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Alan Lucas ’85 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Mike McMullan ’87 of Ridgeland, Mississippi
Warren D. Miller ’87 of Madison, Mississippi
Jim Warren ’84 of Jackson, Mississippi (posthumous)
“The Alumni Hall of Fame is the highest honor bestowed to any alumnus of the University,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. “Each inductee has experienced significant professional accomplishment and contributed time and resources in moving the University forward. Their efforts have brought favor and distinction to Southern Miss, and we are honored to celebrate them in this way.”
The Alumni Hall of Fame Banquet will be held Friday, Oct. 14 as one of the highlights of the 2022 Homecoming celebration, sponsored by Keesler Federal Credit Union and Butler Snow.
In addition to the Alumni Hall of Fame, the Association will hold its 24th Annual Alumni Homecoming Scholarship Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 14 at the Hattiesburg Country Club. On Saturday, Oct. 15, the Alumni Association will hold its Annual Meeting to honor select alumni and elect new members to the Alumni Association Board of Directors beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Association will also host Pregame at Southern Station, a member exclusive event, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Golden Eagles will face Arkansas State University at The Rock at 6 p.m., Eagle Walk will begin at 4 p.m. and the annual Homecoming Parade will begin at 1 p.m. For more information on all Homecoming events, visit SouthernMissAlumni.com/Homecoming.
