DuBard School Celebrates 60 Years with ADP Business After Hours Open House

Dubard posterDuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host an open house on Thursday, May 19 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in honor of the school’s 60th anniversary.

Dr. Dubard with the first three studentsFormer students and their parents, community supporters and members of the general public are welcome to attend. “We look forward to celebrating our 60-year legacy and showing the Pine Belt all that we offer at DuBard School,” said Missy Schraeder, DuBard School director. “We are excited to join forces with the Area Development Partnership of Greater Hattiesburg to make this a community-wide event.”    

Open house attendees will enjoy exhibits and demonstrations about the school’s enrollment program, outclient services, and professional development. School tours will be provided and the staff will be available for a meet and greet reception immediately following.

The DuBard School for Language Disorders is located on the Hattiesburg campus of The University of Southern Mississippi at 100 Kay James Drive. Public parking will be available for open house attendees.


About the DuBard School for Language Disorders

The DuBard School for Language Disorders was established in 1962 and is a clinical division of the Southern Miss School of Speech and Hearing Sciences in the College of Nursing and Health Professions. The school serves children with severe language/speech disorders, including the written language disorder of dyslexia/specific learning disabilities, and/or hearing impairments and provides guidance and counseling for parents and families of the children. The school is a practicum site for university students majoring in speech-language pathology, audiology or deaf education. DuBard School for Language Disorders is a United Way agency.
