USM Graduation Ceremonies set for Dec. 8-9

Seymour with a graduateThe University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host fall 2022 commencement exercises at Bernard Reed Green Coliseum on its Hattiesburg campus Thursday, Dec. 8 and Friday, Dec. 9. Approximately 1,270 students are candidates for degrees this semester.

The Dec. 8 ceremony, set for 6 p.m., is for students earning graduate degrees; two ceremonies on Dec. 9 will feature a conferment of degrees for undergraduates.

The fall graduation ceremonies will be the first for USM President Joe Paul as leader of his alma mater. Dr. Paul was named permanent USM president in October after serving in the role on an interim basis since July.

The commencement schedule is as follows:

*Thursday, Dec. 8, 6 p.m.: Graduate School - All Doctoral, Specialist and Master's Students

*Friday, Dec. 9, 9 a.m.:
Undergraduate students in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Professions.

*Friday, Dec. 9, 2 p.m.: Undergraduate students in the College of Business and Economic Development and College of Education and Human Sciences.
