Lighting the Way for the Holidays set for Nov. 30 on Hattiesburg Campus

The administration building behind a Christmas treeThe Student Government Association (SGA) at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) invites students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to the Hattiesburg campus Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. for its annual holiday program “Lighting the Way for the Holidays.” This event is free and open to the public, and begins with the traditional lighting of the Hattiesburg campus’s 30-foot Christmas tree featuring more than 17,000 lights, located on the south lawn of the Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building near the main entrance to campus.

Following at 6:30 p.m. will be a holiday celebration on the adjacent Centennial Green by Cook Library that will include cookie and ornament decorating, hot cocoa, a cider bar, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, holiday movie showings and an iceless skating rink, among other activities. The fun keeps going at 9 p.m. when the Southern Miss Activities Council (SMAC) will host a late-night meal at Spirit Park.
