Sigma Alpha Lambda and the Association of Office Professionals (AOP) at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) are launching “Cans for Collegiates”, a non-perishable food drive set for April 15 – May 1 on the Hattiesburg campus to assist the Eagle Pantry and Wesley Pantry Plus in reducing food insecurity among students as the 2023 spring semester comes to close.

“Donations obtained during this food drive will allow both pantries to have adequate food on hand as we move toward final exams, which is an especially important time to ensure our students are food secure due to the adverse impacts food insecurity creates,” said Zebariaha Spire, vice president of membership for Sigma Alpha Lambda. “Though this is just one food drive, it can make a difference in supporting many students' food security and, ultimately, academic success.”
