SICET, the Society of International Chinese in Educational Technology, is a non-political, non-profit academic organization affiliated with AECT, the Association for Education Communications & Technology. The organization’s goal is to encourage academic cooperation and support among Chinese scholars and experts in the field of educational technology.

The mission of SICET is to establish and strengthen international academic connections in educational technology for teaching and learning, and to promote the application of educational technology throughout the world.

Dr. Wang was SICET’s president from 2007 to 2010. Her speech at the luncheon offered a comprehensive review of SICET's journey, emphasizing its accomplishments in research and international collaborations.

“I am proud to be a part of SICET and was humbled to be asked to speak at their 20th anniversary luncheon,” said Dr. Wang. “Cooperation among international scholars in the field of educational technology furthers the innovation, both in China and around the world.”

Also honored at the conference was USM alumnus Hengtao Tang, who graduated in 2012 with a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and Design and went on to earn his dual doctoral degree at Penn State University. Dr. Tang was awarded the prestigious Special Service Award by the AECT board, underscoring his remarkable dedication to the field of educational technology.
