Immersive Nurse Practitioner Academic-Practice Partnerships
The College of Nursing received grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for educating and training primary care nurse practitioner students in rural and underserved populations. In addition to the grant, there is funding for nurse practitioner students enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program or doctoral level courses. Beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year, the grant supports students to complete longitudinal clinical training in rural and underserved areas and will work in one of these areas (rural and underserved) following graduation if a position is available. Additionally, the grant provides financial support to students who qualify.

The College of Nursing has received continuous support through for this program since 2005.
