We are excited to welcome you as you begin your journey at Southern Miss! Orientation will introduce you to the people, offices, and resources that will get you Ready for Life at Southern Miss and beyond.
Orientation is required for all new degree-seeking students on the Hattiesburg campus.
Only admitted students who have submitted documentation of two measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations can sign up for Orientation.
Before registering for Orientation, students are required by Mississippi state law to submit proof of TWO measles, mumps & rubella (MMR) immunizations. Exemptions are permitted for (a) actual or suspected pregnancy (measles or rubella vaccines are not required for females who are pregnant; if pregnancy is suspected, a valid certificate of medical exception from a health provider is required until pregnancy is resolved), (b) medical contraindication, (c) birth prior to 1957, or (d) religious exemption.
The University of Southern Mississippi has partnered with Med+Proctor to process immunization records with a $10 fee for this service. To document a medical or religious exemption, click here. Otherwise, click the button below to create your Med+Proctor account using your Southern Miss SOAR ID and password. Uploaded documents are typically processed within 24-48 hours.
